Evaluation of the basins thermal loads

To properly size the heating system of a basin and to provide operating costs, it is essential to know precisely its heating load. To do this, an energy audit must be performed on each basin. The evaluation of the needs of an heating a pool is not a task that can be taken lightly, one might even say that this is one of the most complex need to study.

Heat loss of a basin depend on various factors, the main ones being water evaporation, losses by sky radiation, losses by natural and forced convection, losses to the cold ground early in the season, water renewal and losses in buried pipes.

Heat gain that does not depend on the heating system must also be considered in this assessment, as must be considered the solar gain and the work of circulation pumps.

Each basin should be specifically studied considering each of these factors, as two identical pools in two different regions may not have the same needs.

Just look at the various factors that influence evaporation, which represents up to 50% loss of tranquil pools, a percentage that increases even more for water slides and wave pools. Evaporation depends on wind speed, air humidity, air temperature, water temperature, water agitation rate, altitude and the presence or abscence of a covering object on the water surface.

In order to determine the required energy to heat a pool, large amounts of weather, geographical and geometrical data must be collected.

Using computer tools developed specifically for this purpose and for HVAC-Concept's exclusive use, our team was able to accurately predict the heating needs of several large pools and waterparks across the province. The calculated values have in many cases been validated with power measurements directly on the heaters as well as with the total energy consumption for the season. No other company has such expertise in swimming pools heating using heat pumps.

As a professional Hydro-Quebec partner, energy efficiency projects of water parks for which we participate may be entitled to grants for up to 40% of costs, depending of the energy savings made. You have everything to gain by assigning us the study of your basins and the estimation of your future savings!

Training

In addition to the excellent quality of its products and its competitive prices, HVAC Concept offers various courses that enable everyone to come out ahead. In addition to providing specific documentation for the products it distributes, the company is in charge of training staff retailers.

Advisors who gets a training on reversible systems...

  • Have a better understanding of how heat pumps work
  • Are beter positioned to tout its benefits, thus facilitating sales
  • Can help customers find the right system depending of their pool size and the usage they're making of it
  • Are unlikely to be caught off guard by more advanced questions

Installers who gets a training on reversible systems...

  • Develop expertise in plumbing, electrical and location systems, as well as for parameter adjustments
  • Are able to install units quickly and orderly
  • Can ensure optimal performance of the device
  • Can better control the operating conditions, minimizing the risk of failures

Technicians who gets a training on reversible systems...

  • Fully understand the specificities of the units distributed by HVAC Concept
  • Possess tips and tricks for simplifying diagnostics
  • Get an overview of common problems and are able to find the appropriate solution for each of them
  • Can quickly identify and solve problems

Through these trainings, customers get a better service and retailers reduce their labor costs. Here's another great reason to choose HVAC Concept products!
